Membership Upgrade / Downgrade

Learn what happens when a student Upgrade or Downgrade their membership

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Step-by-step Guide:

Membership Upgrade – Charge Only the Difference

If the student decides to upgrade, for example, from a €100 plan to a €250 unlimited plan:

  • The system will automatically calculate the difference, prorated based on the number of days left in the billing cycle.

  • Using the example above (upgrade on day 20 of a monthly cycle), the student would only be charged the value of the remaining 10 days of the new €250 plan.

  • This difference is charged immediately.

Note: Upgrades are prorated and the extra amount is charged immediately, not on the next billing date. The student is not charged the full difference unless the upgrade happens on the very first day of the cycle.

Membership Downgrade – Takes Effect on Next Billing Date

If a student decides to downgrades their membership (e.g., from €250 to €100):

  • The change takes effect on the next billing date (e.g., the next 1st of the month).

  • Until then, the student will remain on their current (higher) plan.

Note: Downgrades are scheduled and only apply from the start of the next billing cycle.

There is no immediate refund or price adjustment based on remaining days.
