If you are trying to cancel an active membership, stop an automatic payment, or delete your MAAT profile entirely, you will notice that the app does not provide a direct button to do this.
This is an intentional security and billing feature.
MAAT provides the software that your gym uses, but your gym's administration team completely controls your financial agreements, cancellation notice periods, and data retention policies.
Why cancellations are managed by your gym
Because every academy has different business rules, MAAT restricts users from unilaterally cancelling active financial contracts.
Notice Periods: Many gyms require a 30-day or 60-day notice period before cancelling a direct debit or card charge.
Contract Terms: If you are on a fixed-term contract (for example, an annual membership paid monthly), your gym must authorise the early termination.
Outstanding Balances: The system prevents the removal of payment methods or memberships if there are unpaid invoices on your account.
How to cancel your membership
To process a cancellation or stop an upcoming payment, you must contact your gym's administration team directly and request that they cancel your active membership.

Why profile deletion is restricted
Similarly, you cannot delete your own MAAT profile while you have a history of financial transactions or attendance at a gym.
Gym owners are legally required to maintain accurate tax, billing, and attendance records for auditing purposes.
Allowing users to delete their profiles instantly would corrupt the gym's financial reporting and class rosters.
How to request profile deletion
If you have permanently left the academy and wish to have your data erased under GDPR or local privacy laws, you must direct this request to your gym.
