Understanding the Waiting List for Students

Learn how the waiting list works when a class reaches full capacity in MAAT.

What happens when a class is full?

  • When the class capacity is reached, the “Join class” action becomes a "Join Waiting List" option.

  • You can still sign up by joining the waiting list.

Can I see my position on the waiting list?

Yes.

After joining the waiting list, you'll be able to see:

  • Your exact position on the waiting list

  • The names and number of people who need to drop out before a spot becomes available

To do so, you can tap on "View Waiting List"

This helps you decide whether you're likely to make it into the class.

If you want to leave the waiting list, you can tap "Leave Waiting List" and then confirm your choice by tapping "Leave."

What happens when a spot becomes available?

  • As soon as a spot frees up:

    • The first student in the waiting list is automatically added to the class

    • No manual action is required from the student

  • You receive a push notification on your phone confirming:

    • You’ve been added to the class

    • You are now officially enrolled and can attend the session

Note:

You will always receive a reminder push notification 3 hours before a class you’re registered for starts. So, if you booked a class you will not attend, you will always be able to leave it in advance when prompted by the system.
